Royal Doulton Character Jug Large Genie Magnificent Colorway

Listed as part of a new fundraising drive to combat the temporary closure of our Museum due to the current situation. This special Colorway of the Genie is now offered for sale and offers are invited. One of the best color trials we have ever managed to find and one wonders why on earth they did not put it into production given the look of the standard release?

Perhaps the fact that the original was only in production for 6 months has something to do with it? The base has the sought after head designer G Sharp's sample stamp and original markings. In perfect condition and beautifully painted. We agonized on whether to let this one go but needs must and he will enhance any collection. It's always difficult to judge the value of colorways, so much depends upon the individual buyers tastes and appreciation.

The American Toby Jug Museum hosts the finest and largest display of Toby and Character Jugs in the world, just over 8743 (soon to be 8742) on the last count spread over 6000 sq foot. Admission is free and the museum when able will be open Friday through Sunday every week from 12 to 5. Guided tours are available by appointment. Opened by the greatly missed late collector Steve Mullins in 1998 the museum is a non profit with the mission to share our amazing collection and encourage the collecting of Toby and characters jugs world wide.
