These rare versions were made just after the second world war in the white with a green back-stamp and were normally given to factory workers. Simon the Cellarer was immortalised in a 19th century drinking song. The handle of the jug is formed as the keys to his cellar full of fine wines and ale which are a main feature of the song. The jug stands at 6inches (15cm) tall. There is a hairline crack and a small chip to the rim but otherwise the jug is in a very nice condition.
