Very Rare DOULTON Large THORENS MUSICAL Character Jug - AULD MAC D5889 1930s. This is a very rare Royal Doulton musical large character jug modelled as Auld Mac. The base of the jug houses a Thorens Swiss musical movement which plays "The Campbells are Coming". This scarce piece was designed by Harry Fenton and issued only between 1938 and 1939. The inner rim of base has a Royal Doulton backstamp with model details as shown.

The musical movement has its original Thorens label. The jug is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration.
