ROYAL DOULTON 1992 William Shakespeare Character Jug with COA D6933 LTD #99/2500

Gorgeous, MINT condition 1992 Royal Doulton Limited Edition William Shakespeare two-handled Character jug. This large, hand made and hand decorated ceramic was modelled by William K. Harper, whose signature appears on the bottom of the mug. This is a heavy piece, weighing in at 2 lbs.

And measuring 7" in height, 9" in width and 5 in depth. Includes the Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Stuart R. Lyons, Chairman of Royal Doulton Limited.

The Royal Doulton hallmark appears on the base of the jug along with the limited edition number. This character jug is #99 out of only 2500 made.

The double handles are decorated with characters from William Shakespeare writing. This fine English ceramic has a glossy finish, and vibrant hand painted colors. There are embellishments of gold gilt on both handles.

This character jug is part of Royal Doulton's Men of History series. In 1882 the firm bought a Burslem factory, which was intended for making fine bone china. In 1901 a royal warrant from the Crown was given, hence the name Royal Doulton. Royal Doulton is now headquartered in Stoke-on-Trent, England. The company is famous for their exquisite range of ornate and highly detailed figurines.
