Gorgeous and neatly detailed and colored Royal Doulton this double-handle Character jug of OLIVER CROMWELL D6968. Limited Edition of 2,500, this one is number 386.

Height is about 7 inches. Excellent Pre-owned condition with no chips, cracks, glazing, etc. To celebrated the 350th Anniversary of the Battle of Marston Moor in 1644 which was part of the English Civil Wars. Between the Royalists and Parliamentarians.

The double handles depict Lord/Baron Thomas. Fairfax and King Charles I. (1599 - 1658), English statesman and Lord protector of the republican Commonwealth. When differences between King Charles I and Parliament erupted into the English Civil Wars, Cromwell became one of the leading generals on the Parliamentary side, winning many notable victories, including the Battles of Marston Moor and Naseby. He was widely regarded as one of the most important statesmen in English History.
