Offered for sale is this charming Royal Doulton Character Jug in the form of Mr Pickwick, the character from Charles Dickens Pickwick Papers. This is Style One with a plain handle. It is marked "Trial" on the base as he has a green jacket and black hat, whereas it was eventually issued with a brown coat and green hat.

The figure was designed by Leslie Harradine and Harry Fenton and was issued from 1938 to 1948. 4 inches tall and is offered for sale in very good condition with no chips or cracks. It is fully marked on the base with the Royal Doulton stamp and "Trial".
