Royal Doulton Flambé Character Jug CONFUCIUS D7003. Produced in 1995 in a Limited Edition of just 1750 (of which this is #946), this Royal Doulton Character Jug D7003 depicts the Chinese philosopher CONFUCIUS who lived from 551 BC to 479 BC. His philosophy, now known as Confucianism, emphasizes personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice, kindness, and sincerity.

A compilation of Aphorisms concerning his teachings, is featured on the handle. Hand painted in England in a flambé glaze with distinct traces of yellow and black typical of Doultons Sung glaze, although this is just marked flambé. Approximately 7 1/2 inches tall (about 19 cm).
