Royal Doulton Character Jug SIR HENRY DOULTON D7054. Royal Doulton Character Jug D7054 depicting Sir Henry Doulton, the son on John Doulton, who became a partner (1815) in pottery that would become Royal Doulton (1902). Henry Doulton joined the firm in 1835. In 1846 he initiated the Lambeth pipe works, where he superintended the manufacture of the drainage and sanitary appliances which have helped to make the firm of Doulton famous. This large size two-handled jug was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of Sir Henry Dolton in 1897.
This jug carries a special backstamp for the centenary year and was issued in limited edition of 1,997 jugs. Hand painted jug approximately 5.5 inches tall.
The handles depict some of the many decorative wares produced by Doulton under Sir Henry Doulton leadership. (no chips, cracks, repairs or other defects), and FIRST QUALITY. With Certificate of Authenticity (COA) as shown.
