ROYAL DOULTON Lambeth England THE BATHER Stoneware Statuette Figurine JOHN BROAD

This piece was introduced in 1928... John Broad's stylish stoneware statuette was made at Royal Doulton's Lambeth Studio.

The Art Nouveau-style beauty with brown hair adorned with floral band shown crouching atop an orb with a lizard at one side, all mounted atop four frog feet. Variations of the figurines were produced that include blonde or brunette hair and different floral headbands. 13.75 inches tall x 5.5 inches width.... Showcase quality and would make a fantastic gift for the collector in mind!! Light signs of previous ownership should be expected consistent with age..

A wonderful piece in Mint Condition - free of chips, cracks, hairlines - some slight crazing, I do notice it on the beige body - Possibly some of the usual production firing flaws to the staturette that are consistent with this type of ware. Do not have its original box.. Heidi JOHN BROAD: John Broad was one of the cornerstones of Doulton's decorative products arm. Starting in 1873, he worked at the Lambeth works for 46 years till 1919, specializing in large monumental works.

Vases, figurines, statuary, portrait medallions and large monuments... Broad turned his hand to all of them, with enormous success in both terracotta and stoneware. Just re-package in its original packaging materials, box and insured (or similar in size).. The items I sell are vintage, antique pieces and have been previously owned - these are not new store bought items...
