Designed by Harry Fenton this is a rare opportunity to own such a piece. Made in England from 1940-42 this is the extremely rare version of the Cavalier character jug with Goatee.
This piece has a green hat and a white ruff. Originally a form of abuse, implying an overbearing manner,'Cavalier' was adopted by the royalists during the Civil War to describe themselves. Cavaliers were opposed to the Roundheads of Cromwell and the Parliamentarians. This is in great condition with no chips, cracks or damage.
