Royal Doulton Tiny Toby 1940 to 1960'Original' Charles Dickens Set 12 Jugs

These 12 jugs represent the complete original Antique Royal Doulton Toby Character Jug Set of Tiny Dickens characters by designers Harry Fenton, Charles Noke, Leslie Harradine. The set includes'Arriet D6256,'Arry D6255, Auld Mac D6257, The Cardinal D6258, Fat Boy D6142, John Peel D6259, Mr. Micawber D6143, Old Charlie D6144, Mr. Pickwick D6260, Paddy D6145, Sairey Gamp D6146, and Sam Weller D6147. First issued from 1940 to 1947 and all discontinued by 1960, these vintage jugs would be a special addition to any collection. Two years of apprenticeship at Doulton preceded artists being allowed to hand painting these Pottery Jugs. Each is stamped on the bottom with the round circle only Doulton mark, as these jugs are too small for the Lion & Crown Doulton mark found on larger size Tobies (Mini, Small & Large have the full larger mark). They are in Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, and only 1 1/2 tall. Would make a great Christmas present.
