There was a man named Henry Elwes who lived in England in the 18th Century. He was known for being a heavy drinker. He was given the nickname Toby Fillpot after he drank 2,000 pints of Yorkshire Ale. Apparently the name was inspired by an English drinking song called The Brown Jug and when Henry (Toby) died they took his ashes and made them into Tobys Jug.
