Collectible Royal Doulton large character jug, Othello, by Michael Abberley. Othello was modelled on the main character in William Shakespeare's Othello, as part of Royal Doulton's Shakesperean Collection.

The character jug was designed by Michael Abberley and produced between 1982 - 1989. This is an exceptional piece and has been signed by Michael Doulton on 26 August 1982, one of the first produced.

This jug is the large size character jug (head only as opposed to the full body toby jugs) produced by Royal Doulton for over 60 years and are highly collectible. In excellent condition, seems to have had little to no use. Can be used as a decorative collectible item for display or as a large jug. 185mm (H) x 185mm (W, incl handle) x 170mm (D).
