Offered here is the beautifully detailed Royal Doulton "The Fortune Teller" Toby Jug, designed by Stanley James Taylor and issued as the 1991 Character Jug of the Year. This special edition piece was available for one year only (1991) and comes complete with its Certificate of Authenticity, making it especially desirable for collectors. Stamped on the base with Royal Doulton backstamp.

Designation: Character Jug of the Year. Origin: Made in the United Kingdom. Royal Doulton began producing character and Toby jugs in 1934 and ceased production in 2011, making these increasingly collectible.

No cracks, chips, crazing, or repairs noted. Never displayed - stored wrapped in boxes for many years.

My mother kept this safely stored, always intending to find the perfect place to display it - it remained carefully wrapped instead. It presents in excellent condition.
