Vintage Toby Mug Large Gone Away Ceramic Royal Doulton D6531- 1959

Vintage ceramic Huntsman Large Toby character mug titled "Gone Away" complete with the sly grey fox on his shoulder. This highly collectible mug was created by Royal Doulton in 1959 and came in three sizes: Small, medium and large.

Toby mugs actually started in 1760 and shows a full figure; it was not until 1934 that the character mugs were introduced. This handsome old chap has a well-worn face, scarlet coat and stock tie, black hunting cap and fabulous mutton chops!

Hand painted ceramic, excellent condition, stamped Royal Doulton D6531 Made in England, 1959 on the bottom. Measures 7 ¼ inches tall x 6 ½ inches wide x 5 inches deep.
